Oral History Tasmania (OHT) encourages everyone to learn the best and most ethical way of doing oral history.
Towards that end we hold regular workshops and also recommend purchasing the highly-regarded Oral History Handbook by Beth Robertson. The handbook is currently out of print but a new edition, which has been substantially rewritten, is expected soon.
The Oral History Handbook was first published by the South Australian Branch of the Oral History Association in 1983 with the last edition published in 2013.
Our national body Oral History Australia produces a number of guides as does Oral History NSW. Links to some key guides from those organisations are in the Links box on this page.
